VMM took one step closer to the 2009 racing season on Saturday, making a stop at the 3rd annual SpeedwayEXPO in West Springfield, Mass. on Saturday morning. We met up with some old friends, made a few new ones, and got a sneak peak at some of the cars racing in our region this season.Dan McKeage of Gorham, Me. (#40ME) will drive this car in as many as 10 American-Canadian Tour races, including his home track at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
Mike Capra of Alstead, N.H. (#19) is a top performer in the Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, finishing 5th overall last season
Josh Harrington of Topsham (#71) debuts a new number in the Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupe division at Bear Ridge Speedway and Canaan Dirt Speedway. Harrington was the 2008 Coupe champion at Canaan and 10th overall at Bear Ridge
Joey "Pole" Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, N.H. (#97) had his ACT Late Model Tour car on display
Multi-time "King of the Road" Cris Michaud of Northfield represented Barre's Thunder Road Int'l Speedbowl in the ACT booth
Noted chassis builder Port City Racecars of Muskegon, Mich. was marketing its new ACT-legal front clip at SpeedwayEXPO
Twin State Speedway ace Guy Caron (#8) of Lempster, N.H. had a sharp-looking Late Model on display
Young Joey Jarvis (#04) of Ascutney had his Twin State Speedway Modified at the show
Veteran driver Arnie Stygles (#77) of Bradford had his Canaan Fair Speedway (asphalt) Super Street on display
